He has contributed to research and development and the creation of mechanisms aimed at resolving social risks in the global field of occupational safety and health.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is a great honor to receive the Mukaidono Safety Award 2017. I am very proud of it. Let me sincerely thank the organizing committee and especially the professor Mukaidono. I am really convinced that we are more powerful and efficient if all the institutes in the world work together. During 4 years I chair the Perosh network which is the network the OSH institutes in Europe. During that time, we develop many common research projects and I would like to continue with Japan. I had the chance to come to Japan few times and to visit recently the JNIOSH. I was impressed by the high research level of my Japanese colleagues. It was a good opportunity to start a new collaboration. We first invited Dr Toshihiro Fujita to visit us in Nancy and in Paris. It was a very good time to identify future projects. The industry 4.0 with the development of collaborative robots needs to build new concept of safety. I am sure that on that subject we can work together. At the beginning of November 2017 Dr Yasuo Toyosawa came also to visit us in France. We were very honored and pleased by his visit INRS and I wish to have many collaborations with Japan in the future.
Thank You.

Dear all, I am incredibly honored and proud to be a recipient of the 2017 Mukaidono Safety Award.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the SA Council and, above all, to Professor Mukaidono.
I believe that our activities will become stronger and more efficient if all the organizations in the world work together. For the past four years, I have served as the chair of PEROSH, the network of occupational safety and health organizations in Europe. During that time, we have conducted many collaborative research projects, and I would like to continue to do so with Japan in the future. I have visited Japan several times, and recently visited the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (JNIOSH). I was very impressed by the high level of research conducted by Japanese researchers, and it was a great opportunity to start a new collaborative research project.
This summer, we also invited Dr. Toshihiro Fujita from IGSAP to INRS in Nancy (northern France) and Paris, which I think was a very good opportunity for us to reach a common understanding about future projects.
The development of collaborative robots in Industry 4.0 will require the creation of new safety concepts, so I believe we can work together on this point as well.
It was a great honor for us that Dr. Yasuo Toyosawa from JNIOSH also visited France in early November 2017. We at the French National Institute for Safety Research (INRS) would like to continue to work closely with the Japanese people. Thank you very much.
