The Institute for Global Safety Promotion (IGSAP) was awarded the International ORP Award 2023 by the scientific jury of the ORP Congress. Dr. Toshihiro Fujita, a director of IGSAP, received the award on behalf of IGSAP during a ceremony held at the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao, Spain, that took place within the framework of the ORP Congress 2023.

The International ORP Award, which started in 2008, is a highly respected award in the field of occupational safety and health and is given to organizations that have made significant contributions to the promotion of safety, health, and well-being at work. This award is a testament to IGSAP's important work and its commitment to making the world a safer and healthier place to work.

Other prestigious organizations that have received the International ORP Award include the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH, 2022), the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH, 2021), the World Health Organization (WHO, 2020), the International Labour Organization (ILO, 2019), and the International Social Security Association (ISSA, 2018).

The jury of the International ORP Award, made up of members of the Scientific Committee of the International ORP Foundation representing a dozen universities in the Americas, Asia, and Europe, noted IGSAP's longstanding commitment to promoting safety, health, and well-being at work both in Japan and internationally, and its leading role in the successful organization of the 2nd Vision Zero Summit Japan 2022 from 11-13 May 2022.

In addition, IGSAP has been highly evaluated for its advocacy of the concept of collaborative safety, which emphasizes the importance of utilizing cutting-edge technologies; its collaboration with experts from international organizations to publish the book "Well-being in Practice" (shown in photo 2); and its efforts to lead a global initiative to promote safety, health, and well-being for all people on Earth, known as Vision Zero for All, in the lead-up to and beyond EXPO 2025. The fact that the IGSAP was awarded the highest prize, the International ORP Award, among many awardees is a testament to its work and shows that it is being evaluated on par with UN specialized agencies. It is indeed a great honor for IGSAP.
